ANTI-SKINO 2024 Festival: Open Call for Proposals from Artists and Artistic Groups

The ANTI-SKINO 2024 Festival invites artists not to forget to dream for a better world and asks them to present their individual and collective vision of utopia.

Can you imagine a society without violence, inequalities, wars, corruption, bourgeoisie, inflation? Could there be a world out there without ecological disasters, barbed wire, racism, kickbacks, occupied territories, bombing? Imagine everyday life without stress, street fights, mental disorders, punctuality, strained relationships, abuse? Is it possible to create a society without murders of people from the LGBT community, religions that divide, churches and states that interfere in our wombs, femicides, abuse of lives, pollution, contamination? Or is this an unreachable dream, an idealised state, a utopia? On the other hand, perhaps the hope of such a utopia is also the driving force to keep fighting for a better world.

Under the theme “Utopia”, the multi-level outdoor theatre and performing arts festival ANTI-SKINO invites artists and artistic groups to present their individual and collective vision of utopia, talking about issues concerning society, economy, politics and the environment, but also offering solutions through their artistic expression. The festival, loyal to the idea of collaboration with national creative forces and within the framework of the festival format as it has been established, invites you to send your proposals in relation to the following parts of the festival:

• Participate with your proposal in the “Young Artists On Stage” initiative which aims to promote and support young creators and artists.
• Support the creation of a new performing arts project through on stage and live interaction of arts such as theatre, music, storytelling, dance, performance, digital media etc. with a minimum duration of 20 minutes.
• Seminars, workshops, educational and introductory activities for various target groups such as children, teenagers, young people, families, people of all ages, artists and arts groups.

For the first time, this year the festival will start its activities from March 2024 and each month will be dedicated to a different action, thus aiming at fruitful experimentation through contemporary proposals of creators, new stage approaches and forms. Specifically, a continuous programme will be built with monthly actions, i.e. a month of theatrical monologues, a month of storytelling and narration, a month of experimental and suitcase performance, a month of a platform for young artists, month of performances, while parallel actions such as seminars, theatrical lectures, workshops, etc. will be held.

The selected proposals will be presented at Ktirion 53 and will be included in the programme of the three-day festival on 29-31 August 2024 at Kato Pyrgos, Tilliria.

The only condition is that the proposals must be original creations and must not have been presented in front of an audience yet.
